Bioplas

Bioplas is a new ground breaking Greek company specializing in natural products for insect control and for crop/livestock applications. I was responsible for the design of their new products packaging, during my employment at IKONA N.G. Christopoulos, in Nafplio (2014).

The main raw material out of which all the products are based at, is zeolite, a natural mineral found in nature, that when broken down, and observed under a microscope, consists of some very sharp particles called diatoms, that act like razors. When in powder form, applied in animals, all insects get cut and dehydraded, which leads to elimination. In agriculture the product offers multiple advantages and can be applied in various larger sizes other than powder.

My design for the packaging of the powder form targeting pet owners, was to work with the geometrical forms of the diatoms, explaining graphically how the products works. For the bigger sized zeolite, the packaging of sacks involved bright and vivid colours aiming to make a visual impact, as the products had to compete with other companies and the client wanted a bold yet clean design.
